Leave Yesterday Behind…
At the edge of the woods lay two paths
One lead to the future, the other to the
Past. I peered into the woods to see
What lay beyond, one path seem short the
Other long.
One path lead to a meadow it was long
Well worn, a far-away meadow, the journey
Would be fast. The other less traveled, covered
With growth I could not see where it
Would go, it was the one into the future,
That I know.
Down in the meadow were creeks, old
Houses, pets and people I knew from
The past, I was confident that I could
Travel with ease this well-worn path.
I looked into the woods and let out a
Sigh, and stepped into the unknown,
I did not know why. I took one more look
At the past, in truth I knew that I could
Never go back.
The future, was where my destiny I would
Find, it was time to move on, it was time to
to move on, it was time to leave yesterday
behind?
