A Rotting America…#251

Casualties of the Times

Begging for food, living on the streets, no jobs to be found, families no longer sound.  Government talks end up in contradictions, poverty is the prediction.

The homeless cannot sleep during winter’s cold nights, they gather around a burning barrel, men, women and children, forgotten, shattered and despised; in the distance a baby cries.

The spirit freezes, fruit of labors rot, life squeezes and struggles persist, bad luck smothering heart and soul, hope ceases to exist.

Changing winds turn into storms, will the world grow wiser, or will it be humbled and beaten back into servility?

Trust departed, a cardboard box in the streets is where the homeless make their beds, hope disappears and the future appears dead.

Acceptance…

The future and its viewless things,

That undiscovered mystery.  Will

We feel death’s lifeless wings.

No one wants these ending things,

If so, it would be a lie.  I hide behind

Curtained windows to keep the

World from seeing my dying eyes.

My face bathed in the dew of morn,

Before me the snowy landscape

Spreads.  This is the world in which

I was born, the world which will be

Gone from me when I am dead.

Sick of this wasted body, the mortal

Strife, the pain of taking a breath.

Now sorrow is the course of my life,

My soul combats with death.

I pray for calmness within me, please

Let it grow, before my wilted spirit must

Go.  Life is beginning to be all too clear,

I am not afraid, for soon I will be gone

From here.

This Country is Grateful to Those Who Serve-a Poem…#237

architecture art clouds landmark

A Sacred Duty…

The old blind man down the road is dying, he is kind and good and the neighbors all know of his name.  They say, that after the war in Vietnam his Country he would not blame. Family and friends all gathered around him in his final hour.  I watch, as people would come and go their hands full of food and flowers.

His daughter arrived asking me to thank the neighbors for what they have done.  Then she tells me that the old man is holding on to life waiting for his Grandson. Her eyes filled with tears, you see my Son is in Afghanistan and we have not seen him for a year.  My father was in the military too, a pilot in Vietnam, he came home and for that, we were all blessed.  The medals on his walls are evidence of him being the best.

We had only spoken for a moment when the sound of sirens filled the air it gave us both, a scare.  The parade of cars pulled up close, doors opened; uniform men stepped out, all with a military flare. Behind them walked a young man straight and tall, wearing his Air Force Blues, said it all.   They say that he went to the bedside of his Grandfather, took his hand giving him a small box along with a sharp salute.  The young man was proud of his grandfather this was his last tribute.

In the box were the medals he himself had been given in Iraq and Afghanistan, “These are for you Papa and thank you for teaching me to be a man”.  They buried him in that sacred place called Arlington, his job as son, brother, father, grandfather, and the service to his Country at last was done.

Donald Trump Pandering for the Black Vote…#236

Donald Trump said that he is devising a plan to get the “Black” Vote, so now he want to “romance” the Black’s in America.  Donald Trump comes under the statement “Sheep in Wolfs clothing”.

Trump has been sued for violating the Fair Housing Act, evidence was found that Trump refused to rent to Black tenants.  Itis said that when he came to his casino’s Black people had to get off the floor.  He has been known to say that Blacks have a trait to be lazy.  Trump falsely accused Obama as not being a citizen.  Trump has suggested that Senator Kamala Harris, “doesn’t meet the requirements” to run for vice president.  He has stated that, Blacks are “Living in poverty, schools are no good”.  What have you done to correct this Mr. Trump?

Trump attacked NFL players for kneeling silently protesting the national anthem.  He has stated that African countries are “shitholes”. He has stated that Black and Brown members of Congress should “Go back”.  Donald Trump said that he had a plan to win over Black Americans.  Then, he opens his mouth again saying, “That Blacks only care about power for themselves, his speeches are different for different audiences.  He defended Confederate symbols, calling Black Lives Matter a symbol of hate.  He consistently delivered a law and order message, calling demonstrators “thugs” and “anarchists” and “mob rule.”

They are those that say Trump is just a bad speaker and possibly racially insensitive.  But when one pulls all of what he said and what he did together, he is a racist.  He has put a dark cloud over our Nation, and has insulted most of our allies.   If, and after, he is elected he will return as the same vile individual that he has been for 30-years.  He makes me ashamed to be white!  As we live in our white skin we must work hard to make this country equal for everyone; we need to heal, and we cannot nor will we be able to with the reelection of Donald Trump.

Poetry-Waiting for the End…#234

Living under both fugitive and gracious light, living within walls that no longer make a home.  Living with assumptions in a world that scorns.  One cannot demand love; it leaves the seeker tired and alone. The heart is no longer inspired by life; it is dead it is made of stone.

Thirst for creativity, hours to feel un-whole, feeble, no power no control.   Troubled with no rest, walking upon the fallow ground, the fields like deserts, barren no heart no soul.  Youth has gone; strength is gone, one’s foremost self-lost in the past, haunted by what went before.

No music, not even the sound from a rustic flute.  The clouds of an obsessed storm in the sky, it groans with sadness.  Visions clear, to be mute would be golden.   No cares, wandering, nomadic, living from place, to place, another plane, the way is lost. Heart-weary, harsh, a dwelling a void, silence.

Fear and fatigue consume, will the body die. Evidence is in the stillness of a stone heart, it has grown weary and cold.  The heart beats faster and faster, like a runaway train, sweeping through the soul.  The deep cut into the soul cannot heal. The night-wind blows through a whisper of silver hair, soon it will be dawn.  The night passed slowly.

Another day under the leafless tree, dew lays upon the body, watching the Robin looking beneath for a worm.  Fall is here and the Robin will go south, soon a cold and frothy sea of white will cover the ground.  Death is welcomed, emptiness, the trembling are now all stilled; time is winding to a close.  Ashes will soon lay upon an icy shore, waiting for the melting ice to float them away.

The Rainbows Bridge Poem
Rainbow Bridge.comJust this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water, and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together….

Another Trump Day…#227

Thank you for checking my son, Chuck Murphree’s new book, it is out on Amazon and Barnes&Noble.

E.

Donald never gives up and frankly I am tired of his erratic behavior. E.

Donald Trump as he is nearing fully fledged campaigning continues his “little” games of words.  He has now criticized Joe Biden’s selection process, and is saying that Biden has “INSULTED” some men by Biden’s decision to select a woman as his running mate.  His sexist remark once again degrades all women, and his words border on sexual harassment.

Another publicized statement, Trump said, “I would be inclined to go a different route than what he’s done,” indicating that Biden “roped himself off into, you know, a certain group of people.” Is Trump’s CERTAIN GROUP OF PEOPLE, women, black, white, red hair, tall, short, etc.   Again a sexist, degrading statement by our president, the leader of the free world.  Biden campaign spokesperson Andrew Bates said Trump is “easily threatened.” The once again he had a play on words, Trump said, “Some people would say that men are insulted by that. And some people would say its fine.” Covering his ass once again.

Biden is expected to announce his running mate at the Democratic National Convention.  The USA has never had a female VP and Hillary Clinton lost her bid for the WH.

The sex or the color of one’s skin is not the problem here; the problem is that the USA needs someone to help the president to turn around this county.  A president that is not insulting, negligence and has a record of failed leadership.  We have approximately 5 million Americans infected with Corona Virus, and approximately 160,000 that has died, and tens of millions jobless.

Now Trump is focusing on sports in the midst of the pandemic.  He wants all sports to resume saying, “These players are young, strong people and they’re physically in extraordinary shape, and will not have a problem.  Ending “You’re not going to see people dying”, now he is predicting the future.  He feels the same about school opening and places of business.

Instead, Trump claimed without evidence that U.S. vaccines “are ready to rock” and contended that “a lot of doctors swear by” hydroxychloroquine as a Corona Virus treatment. Robust medical research has shown the antimalarial drug is not helpful to Covid-19 patients.

Trump is critical of Biden, referencing a recent U.S. intelligence assessment that concluded Russia is targeting Biden ahead of November’s election while China is hoping Trump will lose. He concluded that “They’ll own the United States if he wins,” Trump said of Beijing. “And with me, they were having the worst year in 67 years because I tariff the hell out of them.”  Wake up Trump, most foreign countries own a piece of America.  A large chunk of sovereign debt is held by China and Japan combining together to nearly 50%.  Japan holds the largest amount of U.S. portfolio assets, followed by China. However, China is the largest foreign holder of U.S., so Mr. Trump we actually need to concentrate on getting you out of the White House.
